They preside over meetings in the President’s absence, carry out delegated responsibilities, and assume the role of President if the position becomes vacant. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both leadership and support roles.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for the organization’s financial health. This includes managing the budget, maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards, preparing monthly reports, and handling dues and deposits. The Treasurer also oversees the A.S. Agency Account and coordinates disbursements with the President and University Advisor.

Finance Executive

The Finance Executive drives fundraising efforts and monitors expenditures. They develop strategic fundraising initiatives, cultivate relationships with donors and partners, and coordinate campaigns or events to secure funding. This role is central to sustaining and expanding the organization’s initiatives.

Head of Market Research

This leader guides the organization’s market research and editorial direction. They analyze trends, generate data-driven insights, and craft compelling narratives. Collaborating closely with Senior Columnists, they ensure content aligns with strategic goals and engages our audience.

Senior Columnists

Passionate about writing and sharing ideas? As a Senior Columnist, you’ll write a minimum of four articles throughout the semester focusing on your chosen area within business and economics—such as finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, or economic policy. This role is ideal for those looking to build a portfolio, share their expertise, and establish a public platform through NBER’s widely-read journal.

Editor in Chief & Publishing Director

The Editor in Chief & Publishing Director oversees the full editorial and publication process of the journal, ensuring that all content meets high standards of quality, clarity, and relevance. They are responsible for setting the editorial vision, reviewing submissions, coordinating with writers and columnists, and guiding pieces through the revision and editing process. In addition to content oversight, they manage the logistics of publication—design layout, scheduling, and digital or print distribution—working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer to maintain a strong visual identity. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to amplifying impactful, well-researched student voices.

Marketing Executive

The Marketing Executive leads the organization’s promotional and branding efforts with a focus on increasing visibility, readership, and engagement. They are responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing campaigns across digital platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn, creating regular content to highlight journal releases, events, and member achievements. In collaboration with the Senior Graphic Designer, they ensure visual consistency and creativity across all materials. The Marketing Executive also analyzes engagement metrics to optimize outreach, manages cross-promotion with other campus organizations, and plays a key role in the success of recruitment cycles and public events.

Professional Development Executive

The Professional Development Executive is dedicated to enhancing the skills, experiences, and career readiness of members. They organize and host monthly workshops, speaker panels, and networking events on topics such as resume writing, industry insights, data analysis, and public speaking. They build relationships with alumni, faculty, and professionals to connect members with mentorship and internship opportunities. Additionally, they curate a resource hub with job listings, graduate school prep, and certifications, and regularly survey members to align programming with evolving professional goals. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fostering growth and providing high-impact development opportunities.
